The clients of a grand Georgian-style home tasked Hive Designs with designing a stylish ensuite that maximised space. To meet the brief, Meg Springgay, Founder and Lead Designer of Hive Designs, combined herringbone marble tiles and a vanity unit in neutral tones with pops of warm yellow that conjure a sense of boundless tranquillity and openness.
This bathroom project features London Basin Company’s Marnie basin in Yellow. The striking basin takes its inspiration from India and features an intricate floral pattern in blue, pink and green. Paired with sumptuous creams and brass finishes, the bathroom is a calm and elegant space that is also bursting with character.
The vibrant yellow Marnie basin and matching lampshade exude a sunny warmth; they draw the eye and create an exciting focal point in the bathroom without detracting from the serene and airy essence the design so effortlessly captures. It is the clever combination of bold colour and muted neutrals that make this space so inviting.
Meg explains why the Marnie basin was perfect for this project: “I thought a colourful basin would be a great way to inject personality and interest into the small space. Funnily enough, the next day we were scheduled to visit the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour to meet with suppliers, and we stumbled across the London Basin Company showroom. It was perfect timing as it allowed us to view the basins in person and we immediately fell in love. Out of all the bathrooms and ensuites we have designed, this is the one that we are always asked about - everyone absolutely loves it, especially because of the added design elements that the basin brings to the space!”
