Gainsborough has retained its Royal Warrant of Appointment for Manufacturing of Furnishing Fabrics as granted by His Majesty King Charles III. Royal Warrants of Appointment are a mark of recognition to those who supply goods or services to the Royal Households of The Monarch.
Gainsborough has proudly held a Royal Warrant since 1981 for its walling, curtains and upholstery services in royal palaces, including Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace, Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle. More recently, Gainsborough has produced interior fabrics for carriages at the weddings of the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Neil Thomas, Managing Director of Gainsborough, says: “It is a tremendous honour to have our Royal Warrant renewed. Underpinning the success of Gainsborough for over 120 years has been our commitment to upholding the integrity of traditional techniques and quality craftsmanship. To be recognised with such a prestigious accolade is testament to the hard work, dedication and values of our team.”
Since its formation by Reginald Warner in 1903, Gainsborough has been producing some of the world’s finest interior furnishing fabrics, earning a reputation for exceptional weaving using only the highest-quality, natural materials. Gainsborough is one of the last remaining weaving houses in the UK and is home to one of the largest fabric archives containing and preserving over 7000 historical fabrics.
